She has completed her B.A. English Literature at St. Teresa’s College, Kochi. She has shifted from her home town Kochi to Chennai, where she stays on Harrington Road. She is a native speaker of Malayalam, and claims to speak Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, English and French. Before becoming an actress, she was a part-time model and a businesswoman.

Asin Filmography

Asin Thottumkal debuted in the Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad but it did not do well at the box-office. Her breakthrough as an actress came with her first Telugu language film when she played the role of a Tamil girl in the successful Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja.
Initially many in the Tamil industry considered her to be a jinx as the initial movies she signed in Tamil were either cancelled, delayed or faced financial problems. Although she signed Ullam Ketkumae as her first Tamil film, her first release was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi which was a remake of her Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. The movie went on to be one of the biggest hits in 2004 and introduced Asin to Kollywood.
Her movie Ghajini with Surya, which was released both in Tamil and Telegu, was a box office hit in both industries.
Many movies followed and Asin played opposite some popular actors in South Indian Cinema, among them Surya, Vijay, Vikram and Ajith, with whom she starred in Varalaru.
Asin is also brand ambassador for various products including Parachute, Fairever, Close-Up and Mirinda. She was also a part of Mani Ratnam’s stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai alongside many other co-stars.

GeekuVeerudu Turns as Chandaludu…!

Romantic-Hero-turns-Chandaludu-140Yes, Nagarjuna is now Chandaludu! This is regarding the character he is playing in upcoming devotional film ‘Jagadguru Aadi Sankara’.

Touted to be a biopic of Jagadguru Adi Sankaracharya who contributed a lot to protect Hindu dharm, Kaushik play the lead and title role in the film. Noted writer JK Bharavi of Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu fame is making his directorial debut with this devotional treat.

Nagarjuna will be seen in a cameo as Chandaludu and his portions would be directed by K Raghavendra Rao. Film buffs have been of the opinion that the romantic king should avoid such roles as they are damaging his image.

While Chiranjeevi has given voice over, Mohan Babu will be seen in a vital role in the film. Nag Srivathsa is the music director and all the nine songs were choreographed by Amma Rajasekhar. Jayaprada, Prakash Raj, Srihari, Jayaprakash Reddy and Naga Babu will be seen in crucial roles. This film is a big test for JK Bharavi’s direction skills.

Ram Charan New Movie with Gopi Ganesh….?

charanRam Charan is going to act in the direction of Gopi Ganesh who earlier directed Sai Ram Shankar’s film ‘Romeo – Puri Rasina Prema Katha’ which is yet to be released.

According to reliable sources, Producer KS Rama Rao suggested the name of Gopi Ganesh to Ram Charan. Both Chiru and Charan didn’t take much time to accept the project after listening to the storyline narrated by the young filmmaker. The regular shooting of this big ticket film is likely to begin in August this year.

However, Mega fans weren’t impressed with the choice of directors Charan has been making these days. Firstly it was Sampath Nandi (Racha fame) and now, it is Gopi Ganesh. Chiru and Charan has made a fool of themselves by choosing an inexperienced director like Sampath Nandi for a big commercial film. Lukily, the film ended up as a profit grosser. Thanks to Charan’s star power!

Now, the Megas have been committing the same blunder by choosing Gopi Ganesh. Let’s see if this budding filmmaker makes a mark of his own in the Idustry or misuses the golden opportunity just like Sampath Nandi!
